Wayward Walking

So what if we were "on vacation" or "at a conference". Why wouldn't I still want to go out walking? Exploring new places I would never go if not for wayward walking doesn't stop because I'm away from home. Hotel, motel, airbnb, or someone's home - everywhere is anywhere and I have two feet. Pssst! Nashville, Tennessee has a golf course hiding at the bottom of a steep driveway in the middle of a sleepy suburban neighborhood. At 6:30am it was me, the grounds crew, and fog fairies dancing on the water.

Trashing Red Rock Canyon in 2014

It's all about leveraging the conferences. When we left Las Vegas, we headed to see some of the natural wonders of our country. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is shockingly beautiful and so different from the East Coast. When I saw the pink painted trash canyons chatting with the eye of the monster I simply couldn't resist a snapshot.

Is it about the destination or the journey?

Conference Calling

San Diego was fun, but it was work too. I was there for a conference and I did my share of talking and listening. Then I caught a glimpse of this woman taking a break on her mobile and it struck me as lovely.

A road trip smile

I attended a conference in Baltimore, Maryland and we decided it would be a fun road trip so we drove. What should we spy on the road going home? A smiling caravan. We passed it and discovered that the smile was not necessarily intentional given the overall design, but it was still quite pleasing!
