Rich and I like to have a cocktail on the dock every so often and my what a lovely night it was tonight, although a bit chilly. There is something about the setting sun that sets the buildings alight in neon and it fascinates me.
if I can't settle myself down in one location, then at least I can share my fun with my friends
So we were on the boat and couldn't find a place to tie up. We decided we'll go under the bridge onto the gulf side and maybe there will be somewhere to dock. But look, there's construction even on the water! Oops, I mean de-construction. They built the new bridge and are slowly removing the old one. Noise and debris and wind, oh my!
Perhaps not the most "beautiful" picture, but fun. We have had the very best restaurant recommendations from our wonderful neighbors and when they recommended a bar for the recent Rays' baseball scene, well, we HAD to go! Only it turns out the bar was right next to the stadium and mobbed. My what a "scene" it really was!! But without a place to park, and unwilling to pay $30 for the privilege, we decided a beach bar in our neighborhood would have to be good enough. It was :-D
Rich and I ventured into downtown Madeira Beach (one beach down from us). Wow. A bikini-clad young'un skateboarded past us as we dined on incredibly fresh, delicious fish at Walt's Fish Shack. Sign juxtaposed to sign and every beach chatchki possible screamed tourism. When I saw this Bikini Key store I couldn't resist sharing. It's too early in the season for the hordes of tourists, but they are ready!
It was our anniversary on Saturday and we decided to take our neighbor's suggestion and dine at the Salt Rock Grill in Indian Shores. We had a lovely evening. A little champagne, a view of the water and a lot of fabulous seafood made it easy to have fun.

Yesterday Rich and I discovered that the public beach access to the gulf was only 4 very-walkable blocks away from our house. Yipee!! So of course I had to go swimming. Warm water and shallow for quite a distance. Then this morning when the sun was rising I took a walk and found some fun birds enjoying the water and sand.
Moving from Prague to hotels for a month to Tampa took more out of me than I expected. I would wake up in hotels and have to take a few moments to figure out where I was - and most importantly where the bathroom was. Now I get to wake up and check out this view. Instantly soothing it is!
The house we are renting is lovely and we've discovered wonderful coffee. We'll see if the organic eggs we bought live up to Prague's free-range, orange yolked wonders. Our landlord's decorating tastes/abilities are in question however. Just look at how she painted this brand new dock. Hmmm.
